Srinagar, Dec 8: Former People’s Democratic Party Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Zadibal Assembly segment, Aabid Ansari, today resigned from the party.
Ansari’s resign comes two days after former Finance Minister and a close aide of PDP patron late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Haseeb A Drabu, resigned from the party.
The former MLA Zadibal said that he has tendered his resignation from PDP, saying the party has failed the people of J&K on all fronts.
Abid, in a tweet, said that he doesn’t want to be a part of the lies and deception being perpetuated by the party. He added that he has sent a detailed letter of resignation to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti.
“I hereby announce my resignation from @jkpdp as the party has failed the people of J&K on all fronts. I don’t want to be a part of the lies and deception being perpetuated by the party. Have sent a detailed letter of resignation to @MehboobaMufti. Will soon interact with the media,” Abid Ansari tweeted.
Ansari’s nephew and former Minister in PDP-BJP Government, Imran Ansari, had earlier resigned from the party and joined the Peoples Conference.
