Abdul Haq reviews snow clearance measures, restoration of essential services in Kupwara

KUPWARA: Minster for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justices, Abdul Haq today chaired a meeting of officers and engineers to review the snow clearance measures and availability of essentials and supply position in Kupwara.

The District Development Commissioner Kupwara, G M Dar briefed the Minister through a power-point presentation about the status of snow clearance operations.

The meeting was informed that out of 1795 Km of roads in the district 97% roads have been cleared of snow.

The Minister was also informed that an amount of Rs 66.90 crore have been expended under district plan up to January 2017 out of available amount of Rs 198 crore. He was informed that Rs 7.32 crores have been approved under SSA and Rs 17.76 crores have been approved under RMSA.

The Minister impressed upon the sectoral Officers to complete the on-going developmental woks in time bound manner so that people are benefited from these schemes. During the meeting, Key developmental projects and progress were reviewed, besides taking stock of availability of essential commodities.

The Minister said that Hapathnar and Rangwar water storage tanks are being connected with the PHE schemes for safe drinking water purposes up to June 2017. He impressed upon the concerned agencies to submit their DPRS before the end of this current fiscal. He said that work for widening of Kupwara Lolab Bye pass road is being undertaken by the R&B and the bridge would be made double-laned in near future and sought DPR from the concerned agency.

The meeting was attending by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara besides district and Sectoral Officers.

Meanwhile, the Minister accompanied by officers of District Administration visited SDH Kupwara and reviewed the facilities available for the patients.
