RAMBAN, May 4: Chanderkote police rescued an abducted lady and arrested the accused.
As per police sources, on April 20, a man lodged a complaint with Police Station Chanderkote stating that his wife has been kidnapped by Jagdeep Singh, son of Bishan Dass of Darsopur Miran Sahib Jammu.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 20/18 under Section 366 and 109 RPC was registered at Chanderkote Police Station and hunt was launched to rescue the kidnapped lady and arrest the accused.
On specific information, a team from Chanderkote Police Station conducted raid in Lakhanpur area of district Kathua and rescued the abducted lady. The accused tried to escape from the spot, but cops chased and arrested him.
After completing legal formalities and medical examination, the lady has been handed over to family members.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Chanderkote Inspector Abid Bhukhari rescued the abducted lady and arrested the accused under the supervision of Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
