Srinagar, June 4: Police today recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested accused involved in the crime within 10 hours in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police spokesman said that police station Mattan received a written complaint from a person that his daughter was missing from her home. “On this information, police lodged a report and investigation was set into motion. During the course of investigation it was revealed that one person namely Zakir Ahmad Bhat has kidnapped the girl,” he said.
The spokesman said after strenuous efforts, police recovered the girl within 10 hours and arrested the accused from Srinagar. “After completion of all legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her family members,” he added.
The spokesman said a case under FIR number 54/2017 under section 363/RPC was registered and investigation was taken up.
