Chandigarh, Aug 19: Balwant Thakur’s highly acclaimed Hindi play ‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ vibrated Haryana and Chandigarh cultural scene with its electrifying magnificent five performances of the play in Kurushetra, Rohtak, Yamunanagar, and Chandigarh.
On great public demand two shows of the play were staged at Chandigarh and last show of the series was presented here this evening at the Auditorium of St. Stephens School, which was organized by Loins Club Greater Chandigarh.
The play ‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ shakes parents, educationists/guardians of society out of reverie of materialism, consumerism and unbridled desires. This play compels elders to look around and clear the mess they have created due to their own amorous ambitions. Parents see in their children an extension of their unfulfilled dreams and force them to become stereotypes and kill bountiful charm in them. In a pursuit to make them doctors, engineers and I.A.S., they are subjected to every kind of cruelty.
The artists who gave their outstanding performances included Neeraj Kant, Mohit Sharma Rahul Singh, Pawan Verma, Mohd. Yaseen, Sajra Qadir, Sakshi Prakash, Manasvani Oswal, Mihir Gujral Kritika Bhau, Chander Pratap, Chirag Anand, Sanyam Gupta, Gopi Sharma, Divyan Sharma, Sanchita Dubey, Deepshikha Sharma and Shreya Gupta. Neeraj Kant was the assistant Director of the play and was also the manager of the group who was assisted by Mohd. Yaseen. The music of the play was scored by Rohit Sharma (Harmonium) and Karan Malhotra (Tabla). The costumes were done by Mohit Sharma and Rahul Singh and Pawan Verma looked after the properties of the play. On the occasion a citation of creator, writer and director of the play was also presented on the occasion by the former Vice-Chairman of Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi and the President of Lions Club, Chandigarh.
