JAMMU, July 18: Taking a dig at Government of India for its recent decision to increase five percent GST on different daily use products, the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday alleged that the BJP headed Government was hell bent to burden the life of a common man of India under GST and has once again made a U turn from its promise.
Addressing a press conference, here today, AAP leader S K Sharma reminded that the Government of India had promised two years ago that the products of daily use including eatables would not be covered under GST but it has once again taken a U-turn and the Government has now imposed a GST on these products.
” It seems as if the Government is hell bent to burden the life of a common man of India under GST and the day is not far when the Government will impose GST on the breathing of an individual, ” he said.
Accompanied by other AAP leaders, Sharma said that GST on eatables, including cereals clearly shows that the Government aims to increase inflation in a common man’s life.
The AAP leaders further said that Government’s performance on hiking Petroleum products was already in front of all and life of a common man has been burdened under taxes from all sides.
“We demand immediate roll back of this fresh GST and BJP should also understand that such cruel decisions have a direct impact on the life of a common man of India,” they added.
