Aanganwari workers continue protest

POONCH, Mar 16: Protest dharna launched by Aanganwari workers and helpers of ICDS wing of the Social Welfare Department continued at Mandi town on the third consecutive day today.
The activists told that they were protesting as the Government was not releasing their pending wages. They also added that they have worked during Covid-19 period and performed additional duties assigned to them of various Govt schemes but the Govt did not provide any additional money for those assignments. Even they are not releasing their regular wages for the last about 7-8 months.
They said on one hand govt is promising women empowerment but on the other hand the females were on the road from past many days. They are facing worst kind of exploitation. The activists have requested the LG to listen to their demands and act on it.
