JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today said that Aadhar Card is not mandatory for consumers to get their ration quota till June 2017.
He said that some complaints were received, where consumers were asked to furnish Aadhar Card details to get ration from various ration stores. He said that although Centre has made it compulsory, however, J&K Government giving relaxation to its consumers has extended date till June 2017.
He said that no Aadhar Card should be demanded till June. The Minister said that Aadhar Card will not be mandatory for getting ration in Jammu and Kashmir till June 2017, and instructed officers of the Department to provide ration to the beneficiaries on ration ticket. (AGENCIES)
