It is really heartening to find that the Government has started the process of preparation of highly useful and multipurpose National Population Register Smart Cards called NPR Smart Cards or Aadhar Cards in our State.The fact that this card shall be required to seek any benefit such as job, ration card, gas / water / power connection, passport, opening of bank account, preparation of PAN, purchase of property, etc makes it all the more valuable and indispensable.It is a big step towards modernity and with it we will be joining the select club of those advanced states where these cards are already in vogue.The card will contain the unique identification number of each citizen of India and thus will prove to be a lifeline for him/her.This card will also be useful for transacting business, exercising his/her franchise and preparation of passport in a hassle free manner.
Last but not least, the card will serve as identity card of the citizen for proving his identity at sensitive places and in different situations and thus ensure a hassle free life for the citizens.
A vigorous compaign needs to be launched across the State to make the people aware of the importance and generation of this card so that they don’t miss the opportunity of giving their biometrics and other data to the staff deployed for the purpose. The Government deserves all praise for taking the important decision of generating and providing such useful cards to the people of the State.It is hoped that the Electronic Corporation of IndiaLtd(ECIL) which has been entrusted with the responsibility of generating 90 lakh Aadhar Cards for the citizens of our state shall not be found wanting in completing this Herculean task by the deadline.
