Mankotia takes up Birma bridge issue with PWD Secy

UDHAMPUR, June 17: Former MLA and NPP President Balwant Singh Mankotia took up the issue of damaged Birma bridge with Principal Secretary Public Works (R&B) Department Shailendra Kumar.
Addressing a press conference, Balwant Singh Mankotia appealed to Principal Secretary for early execution of repairing work of damaged bridge.
He also urged to complete the pending work of Chakkad to Debrah road of R&B Department which can use as alternate road till the completion of damaged Birma Bridge repairing work.
Mankotia said that due to the damaged Birma Bridge, the people of Udhampur city as well as surrounding areas are affected badly.
He also submitted memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Piyush Singla regarding the same and demanded to complete the pending work of alternate road which is nearer to the Birma Bridge for the smooth movement of traffic.
Principal Secretary Public Works R&B Department Shailender Kumar while reacting immediately on the demand directed Chief Engineer to act upon soon. On the other hand Deputy Commissioner also assured Mankotia for his quick.
