JAMMU, June 17: To provide assistance to police personnel getting affected by the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19), Police Headquarters J&K has directed all the DDOs of Police for providing financial assistance to the virus affected police personnel.
The circular has been issued by Police Headquarters, J&K.
The circular signed by DGP Dilbag Singh reads that novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has engulfed by and large the whole world. The deadly virus has taken thousands of lives all around the world and is still continuing its havoc endlessly.
It further reads that the J&K Police without caring for themselves are on the forefront to contain the spread of the virus by ensuring strict implementation of guidelines/advisories issued by the government from time to time. Despite precautionary measures a number of police personnel have been reported COVID positive. The J&K Police standby such warriors and their families in this situation.
It also reads that under these extraordinary circumstances, it is enjoined that all DDOs shall ensure to extend financial assistance(s) as a welfare measure for such personnel in shape of Welfare Relief depending on the virus load as per the following criteria, as also Welfare Loan (refundable) of Rs 1 lakh can be availed by the COVID positive on willingness to be provided by the PHQ on specific recommendation of the DDO(s). The expenditure on account of Welfare Relief and Loan shall be booked to J&K Police Pariwar Fund and Central Police Welfare Fund respectively.
Rs 5000 will be provided to COVID positive with mild symptoms (Hospitalization) and Rs 25000 will be provided to COVID positive with severe symptoms (Hospitalization).
