RAMBAN, June 15: A 22-year-old law student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a tree near his rented accommodation in Ward Number 1, here today, a police official said.
He has been identified as Amarjeet Singh Manhas, son of Krishan Singh Manhas, a resident of Adhwa, at present Ward Number 1, Ramban Town.
The deceased, as per the official, was pursuing Law from Jammu University.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites, the police official informed.
Inquest proceeding under Section 174 of CrPC has been initiated by Ramban Police to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
