Haul of duplicate cement bags

JAMMU, Mar 31: Police today sealed a factory and arrested its owner as it was engaged in manufacturing duplicate bags of Ambuja cement and sold them to cement dealers at various places. The dealers used to fill local cement in the bags and sell them as Ambuja cement.
On a tip off, a Nowabad police station team conducted a raid at KK Pole Pack factory at Marakri in Gangyal area and seized 1600 duplicate empty cement bags of Ambuja brand. Police arrested the factory owner, Sunil Kumar son of Kamal Singh R/o Marakri.
Police had developed information of manufacturing of fake cement bags during seizure of ration at Jewel Chowk. The duplicate ration bags had also been manufactured in the same factory.
Police said they have so far identified two cement dealers including Kundan and Sons, Bishnah and Raman Kumar, Jakh, which had been purchasing duplicate Ambuja bags from the factory, filling local cement in them and selling them in the market at the price tag of Ambuja, thus, earning huge profits and providing sub standard cement to the customers.
According to police, they were questioning Sunil Kumar to ascertain identity of other cement dealers, who had been purchasing duplicate bags from him.
A case has been registered against the accused at Nowabad police station for further investigations.
Police parties headed by SHO Nowabad Jai Pal Sharma made the arrests under the supervision of officiating SSP Jammu Rajeshwar Singh and SP City (North) Jatinder Singh Johar.
