SAMBA, Mar 8: In its ongoing efforts to weed out crime from the society, district police Samba has arrested four gamblers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh and recovered stake money of Rs 23,750 from their possession.
Acting on specific information about gambling, a police party of PS Ramgarh raided the gambling spot at Palouta, Ramgarh and arrested four gamblers along with stake money of Rs. 23750 and playing cards.
The gamblers have been identified as Tilak Raj, S/o Saint Dass, Vaid Parkash, S/o Janak Raj, Surinder Kumar, S/o Gian Chand and Sohan Lal, S/o Labha Ram. All are resident of Palouta, Ramgarh.
Taking cognizance into the matter, all the gamblers were booked under Section 13 of Gambling Act at PS Ramgarh.
The raid was conducted by Ramgarh Police on the directives of SSP, Samba Shakti Pathak and under the overall supervision of Additional SP, Faisal Qureshi.
