JAMMU, Mar 5: Executive Councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)- Kargil, Aga Sayeed Abass Rizvi on Thursday called on Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi at New Delhi and demanded constitution of Haj Committee for Ladakh.
He said, after the separation of Ladakh as Union Territory from the erstwhile J&K State, the Haj Committee has not been constituted so far.
Rizvi demanded constitution of Haj Committee for Ladakh with headquarters at Kargil as 90 per cent of the UT Muslims live in Kargil.
The Union minister assured that the demand was genuine and will be fulfilled soon for the welfare of Muslim population.
