JAMMU, Jan 9: Residents of Subash Nagar and Government Quarters, Toph Sher Khanian held protest demonstration against PDD authorities for their failure to restore power supply even after four days.
The residents of the area including large number of Darbar move employees, came out on the road near Masjid Chowk this evening and blocked the road. They started protest demonstration against the concerned PDD staff and sat on dharna in the middle of the road.
They also shouted slogans against Lt Governor, Advisors, Chief Engineer and Executive Engineer PDD. They alleged that local transformer which went out of order four days ago, could not be repaired or replaced even today. The public was badly suffering.
The movement of vehicles was stalled and a long traffic jam was created there. Later, the police party from Bakshi Nagar and PP Sarwal arrived there and they pacified the protesting people. They also spoke to Chief Engineer PDD (M&RE) Jammu on phone who assured to restore power by 12 noon tomorrow.
