SAMBA, Dec 9: Though stray animals are posing a major threat of road accidents in Samba the concerning authorities are in deep slumber and have failed to find a solution to the menace of stray animals in the town especially on National Highway.
According to the report, day by day the strength of the stray animals is increasing in Samba town. The residents of Samba town said that the menace of stray animals in streets of the town have scared them as many times they fight among themselves causing a major threat to the passers by. The stray animals many times attack on human beings and children as a result many people get injured and develop fractures on arms and legs.
Due to the terror of the stray animals, the children become panicky. Sushma Devi a local woman said that people cannot even send their children to school alone because of the increasing stray animals population day by day in the town. She alleged that the officers of concerning Department have failed to find the solution to the problem.
The stray animals also pose a major threat of road accidents. Many times the accidents occurred on National Highway due to stray animals. Not only this during the night hours the stray animals sit on the middle on National Highway. Several times the drivers plying their vehicles on NH and other routes try to save the life of stray animals but some times they lost the control on steering in a bid to save the animal and then vehicle skids off the road causing accident, “said Pardeep Singh” another local.
Increasing the population of the stray cattle on the National Highway is posing a great threat of accidents. Many times the speedy vehicles run over the cattle on National Highway. Several incidents took place on the National Highway due to the stray cattle, he added.
