SAMBA, Dec 9: The workers of the Congress party held a sit-in demonstration in support of the protesting lawyers in Vijaypur near here today demanding the registration Power be handed over to the courts.
Sit-in demonstration protest was led by former Minister and senior Congress leader, Manjit Singh.
While talking to the media person, Manjit Singh said that the land registration power was with Judiciary, but now the job of registering has been assigned to the Revenue Department which will increase the corruption in the Department.
The former Minister demanded that the job of registration should be handed over to the judiciary again. He further said that the Jammu and Kashmir administration has banned mining in the UT which has led to problems to people and development works have suffered.
Due to this there is a hindrance in development and the common people are facing difficulties in building houses. Manjit Singh said that because of the ban on mining, tractor operators and truckers are selling gravel and sand at the exorbitant rates and there is no check of the Government on the same.
