Militants escape after shoot out

Srinagar, Dec 9: Militants managed to escape after a brief exchange of fire that took place last night in Shaar village of Pampore area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An exchange of fire took place at mid night and continued for a brief period during a cordon and search operation at Shaar village when security forces cordoned it off.
They said the security forces later conducted search operation in the area till 9 am in the morning, but no dead body was found.
The operation was conducted by 50 RR of Army, CRPF and police. They had received inputs about the presence of two militants in the area. Militants took advantage of darkness and fled from the spot after brief exchange of fire.
One poultry farm was partially damaged in the fire fight leading to death of around 400 chickens.
