Pensioners demand hike in Medical Allowance

JAMMU, Dec 2: Pension Welfare Association Kathua organized a meeting under the chairmanship of Sohan Lal, Chief Organiser of the Association.
Speakers in the meeting demanded that the government should increase the medical allowance of employees and pensioners from the existing Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month to meet their medical expenses.
They further said that the Accountant General Jammu should expedite to settle the cases of pensioners in respect of revision of seventh pay commission which are pending in his office since long.
Enhancement of pension of widows, senior citizens and disabled persons of J&K UT was also demanded.
Dewan Chand, Des Raj Verma, Shambhu Nath Verma, Tara Singh, Amrik Singh, Karan Singh, Iqbal Mohd, Romesh Singh, Saran Singh, Khushi Ram Sharma and others were also present in the meeting.
