Srinagar, Mar 8: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man guarding official residence of a Minister in Srinagar today committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle.
Police said that Constable Rahul Kumar of 79 Battalion CRPF allegedly shot himself around 5 a.m. at the official residence of Rural Development Minister, Ali Mohammad Sagar at Church Lane in Srinagar.
Police said that Kumar died on the spot and reasons behind his suicide were not known.
Neither the Minister nor his family members were present in the house when the incident happened. The Minister and his family is currently in Jammu.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the reasons behind his suicide.
