Redress problems of turmoil hit people: LJP to Govt

JAMMU, Mar 8: Lok Jan Shakti has urged the Centre and State Governments to redress the problems of the people of J&K on priority basis who have suffered a lot during 22 year long turmoil.
Talking to reporters here, today, LJP national president Youth, Sanjay Saraf and its J&K State chief Rafiq Wani said Government should take all steps in reducing alienation in Kashmir Valley.
They complimented the Governor N N Vohra for his action against the complaint submitted by the Party regarding Mata Vaishno Devi Board.
They said Salal Power Project is providing electricity to entire North India but the adjoining area like Gulabgarh are deprived of power supply since independence. The Gulabgarh, which has a population of 35,000 has not seen electricity till date and they are also deprived of medical facilities.
Saraf while making a dig at Government said Sher-e-Kashmir Employment Scheme introduced three years back has failed to yield fruit as over four lakh youth have applied but without any result.
He said as per the Government’s own statement 20 lakh kanals of State land and 2.80 thousand kanals of forest land have been encroached in the State, but in Reasi people are suffering as they don’t get NOC from Forest Department for construction of one kilometer road.
The Gandola Project for Patnitop which was announced years back has not seen light of the day as Forest Department has not given its clearance.
He alleged that State and Central Governments have failed to redress the problems of migrants from Kashmir.
Mr Saraf who is also the member of Apex Committee on migrants said issues related to unemployment, overage boys and girls, Mandir Bill have not been settled. Besides the migrants from Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Ramban, Reasi and other parts be treated at par with Kashmiri migrants.
