JAMMU, Aug 2: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration against the worst insanitary conditions in Jammu due to strike by Safai Karamcharis.
Extending support to the protesting Safai Karamcharis, JWAM leader, Sunil Dimple appealed to the Advisor K.K Sharma and Principal Secretary to hold talks with leaders of Safai Karamcharis to end the strike.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Safai Karamcharis and other allied workers of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) are demanding regularisation of their services.
JWAM protesters raised slogans against the Government and disrupted vehicular traffic saying that insanitary condition in the city may lead to spread of some diseases.
Dimple also condemned the use of police force by JMC to suppress the strike and said that Safai Karamcharis are leading a miserable life.
He questioned the photo sessions of BJP leaders holding brooms on the pretext of Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan.
Sudershan Rajput, Mohinder Singh Rajneesh Mahajan, Dheraj Gupta, Purshotam Gupta and others were also present in the protest.
