JAMMU, July 28: Thathri Development Front, district Doda today said that NC and Congress are trying to divide Jammu region on communal and religious lines for their personal interests.
In a statement issued here, the members of TDF stated that NC and Congress have ruled the State for about 67 years is squarely responsible for all evils, neglect, under development, corruption, nepotism and discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh regions in general and the rural areas of Kashmir Division in particular.
They further said that it is NC- Congress that strangulated the democracy when late Sheik Mohd Abdullah became Chief Minister without having a single NC Legislator in the Assembly during Sheik Abdullah-Indira Gandhi Accord in 1975. The mass scale rigging in 1987 general elections under Farooq- Rajiv Gandhi Accord gave birth to the militancy in the State for which NC-Congress can never be forgiven in the history.
Stating that NC and Congress are befooling the people of Chenab Valley and Pir Panchal that they have done equitable development to all the three regions during their rule in the State, they appealed the masses of the entire State to read the writings on the wall and throw out such spent forces and be prepared for a change to transform the whole system.
