Snatching case solved, 2 arrested

REASI, July 1: Reasi police today claimed to have solved a snatching case by arresting the snatchers and recovering snatching items from their possession.
According to a police official, a complaint of snatching was registered by Reasi police on May 6, 2019 on the basis of a written complaint by a man namely Subash Chander son of Jagan Nath, resident of Majra (Kund), who alleged that two unknown bikers with their faces covered with masks snatched his wife’s purse containing 2 golden bangles, 2 golden rings, 2 golden earrings and Rs 1500 cash at village Dhanwa when he along with his wife was on way from Reasi to Pouni on their motor bike.
“A case FIR Number 34/2019 under Section 382/RPC was registered in this connection at concerned police station and the investigations started. During the course of investigations, two suspects namely Mohd Tariq son of Mohd Aslam, resident of Bhagta and Jagdish Chander son of Isher Dass, resident of Agar Jitto, who were involved in many criminal cases in different police station of Jammu, were taken into custody and on sustained interrogation, the duo confessed the crime,” the official said.
He said both were arrested and on their disclosure, golden ornaments having value of Rs 1,05,000 were recovered from them. The whole investigation was carried out under the supervision of Shiv Kumar Chowhan, ASP Reasi and overall supervision of Nisha Nithyal, SSP Reasi.
