One arrested for wrongful confinement, beating of man

RAJOURI, July 1: Police today arrested a person and booked some others for allegedly keeping a man in illegal confinement and beating him mercilessly.
SSP Rajouri Yugal Manhas said that the incident came to fore on Monday morning, when a video went viral on social media and it was seen in the video that a middle aged man had been kept in wrongful confinement by some people who are beating him mercilessly.
He said that soon after the matter came to fore, District Police Office Rajouri started investigation during which it was found that video had been filmed in a village of Nowshera.
A special team of police was constituted and during investigation, it came to fore that the victim of the incident is Dalmir, son of Mohammad Sadiq, a resident of Rani Badetar Androoth who had been allegedly beaten by a man namely Mohammad Mansha and some others resident of Nowshera.
It also came to fore that the accused allegedly kept victim in wrongful confinement, tied him with rope and beat him mercilessly.
A case was registered in Nowshera police station and four persons have also been booked in connection with the crime. They were identified as Mohd Sabar, a resident of Rani Badatar, Mohammad Mansha, a resident of Daryala Dabbar, Mohammad Shabeer, a resident of Daryala Dabbar and Naseer Begun, a resident of Durrani Batta.
The SSP said that the main accused namely Mohammad Mansha has also been arrested when he was trying to escape from bus stand Nowshera whereas a man haunt has been launched to arrest the other accused persons.
