JAMMU, June 19: All Teachers Association, J&K in a meeting condemned the order passed by DC Kishtwar to pay salaries of Teachers on production of Attendance Certificate from at least ten parents on rotational basis which is further required to be countersigned by the concerned Sarpanch.
Taking strong note of the order, Mrignayani Slathia, Association President said, by passing such illogical order, the DC Kishtwar has raised a question mark on the integrity of teaching community.
She said, the teachers are not only imparting education but are also instrumental in the implementation of various schemes of the Government.
She said that instead of bringing comprehensive reforms in the education system, the teachers are being targeted unnecessarily by such unreasonable orders.
Slathia further said that in Education Department there exists an effective mechanism to check irregularities committed by the teaching staff.
“But by passing the said order, the DC has placed teachers at the mercy of the parents and sarpanches,” Association leader maintained.
She said that her Association shall fight tooth and nail for revocation of the order.
