Investigate pending cases professionally by using modern investigation tools: IGP

DODA, June 13: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone MK Sinha held a crime review meeting here today in which pending cases of 2018 and 2019 were discussed. He directed the officers to ensure that the investigation in these cases should be done professionally by using modern investigation tools.
IGP Jammu gave summary of do’s and don’t in investigation of NDPS cases. All sensitive and sensational cases of district Doda which are under investigation were discussed and necessary guidelines were given. A power point presentation was given by SSP Doda wherein overall law and order, crime position and other allied things were discussed.
After conducting the crime review meeting, IGP inspected the working of Police Station Doda and CCTNS lab.
Earlier, IGP Jammu held meeting of officers and jawans which was attended by 250 police personnel including GOs, NGOs and other officials of District Police Doda.
SSP Doda apprised the IGP Jammu of the issues of District Police Doda and presented a brief resume of overall security and law and order scenario of the district, besides elaborating on measures taken by District Police for the welfare of jawans.
The meeting was also addressed by Bhim Sen Tuti DIG DKR Range, who exhorted upon the officers to rise up to the occasion and face the new challenges.
While speaking, IGP directed police officers to focus on PCPG meetings to bridge the police-public gap and involve youth in friendly programmes. “This District is turning militancy free due to the hard work and sacrifices of martyrs and we should remain extra-ordinarily alert and vigilant to ensure that peace and tranquility in the District is maintained”, he added.
He exhorted upon the newly recruited PSIs to work hard and equip themselves with knowledge of law and use of information technology in detection of crime.
Later, the IGP visited DPL and held inspection of stores and District Armory Kot. He also visited Police Public School Doda and instructed for establishment of computer lab and playground in the school. IGP also sanctioned modern teaching aids for the school.
