80 bovine animals rescued, 3 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, May 18: Foiling a major attempt of bovine smuggling, Police today rescued 80 animals by intercepting three trucks on the National Highway, under the jurisdiction of Chenani Police station.
Giving details, SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey said that the trucks, bearing registration number JK03F-5354, JK18A-8765 and JK02AQ-7781 were intercepted at Motor Shed during a special naka, led by SHO Chenani, Paramjeet Singh, under the supervision of Santokh Raj Deol, SDPO Chenani and Rajinder Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur.
80 bovine animals were found loaded in the three trucks without any permission. All the bovine animals were rescued and accused drivers namely Sohail Ahmed Wani, son of Masrat Ahmed Wani of Nipora Mir Bzr Anantnag, Sohail Ahmed son of Abdul Rashid of Shorat Kulgam and Ashiq Ali son of Musa Gujjar of Krimchi Udhampur were arrested on the spot.
In this regard case FIR number 57, 58, 59/2019 under section 188/RPC, 3/PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani.
