Jora conducts whirlwind tour of Jammu city

JAMMU, Feb 13: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora today conducted a whirlwind tour of the Jammu city including fruit mandi complex, Narwal, Transport Nagar and adjoining areas and inspected the infrastructure and facilities at these vital business centers.
The Minister while inspecting the facilities at Fruit Mandi, Narwal, was told by the Chairperson, JDA, that about 500 shops constructed by the Jammu Development Authority have already been handed over to the Horticulture Marketing and Planning, while some more shops would be handed over to the agency after completing certain formalities.
Interacting with the President, Fruit Mandi and officers of JDA/Horticulture, Mr. Jora instructed   JDA   to take necessary steps for developing a green area (buffer zone) on the available land near the fruit mandi to prevent encroachment of the same.
Mr. Jora also inspected Interstate Bus Terminal constructed by   JDA at Transport Nagar. The Minister directed the concerned to ensure better sewage, drainage and improved roads, to avoid any inconvenience to the commuters and transporters.
The Minister was accompanied by Chairperson, JDA, Sarita Chavan, Commissioner, JMC, Khajuria and other senior officers of the JDA/JMC.
