JAMMU, Feb 22: General Category Peoples Forum (GCPF) today expressed resentment against the decision of Governor’s administration for okaying reservation in promotions and ten percent reservation to the economically weaker sections of the general category people through an ordinance.
In a meeting Forum leaders alleged that some officials and politicians including former MLAs of BJP have been continuously misleading the Governor, S.P Malik over the issue of reservation for vote bank politics.
The Forum further said that any step to muzzle the voice of general category and undermining the judicial verdict of High Court of J&K, which quashed the reservations in promotions, is illegal and unconstitutional.
Forum has appealed to the Governor to withdraw the decision of reservation in promotions.
V.K Sharma, Bhushan Parjat, Deepak Khajuria, Raj Kumar Banathia, Som Nath Sharma, Dr Bansi Lal and Prof Yash Paul Sharma were present in the meeting.
