JAMMU, Jan 30: The Department of Sociology, University of Jammu, organized its third alumni meet, which was attended by a large number of students, ex-students, guests and faculty members.
On the occasion, students of the department presented various cultural items while alumni from first to 12th batch were felicitated.
Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, JU, who was the chief guest, said that alumni are the real assets of the institute and their experiences provide important inputs. He wished them good luck in their future endeavors.
Earlier, Prof Abha Chauhan, HoD Sociology, presented the welcome address and gave a resume of the achievements of the department during the past years. A brief documentary was also shown to the audience highlighting the activities of the department since its inception.
Among others Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Director of Internal Quality Assurance, J. K. Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor, faculty members, staff and students were also present on the occasion.
