JAMMU, Jan 29: After completion of investigation in MBBS impersonation scam fifth charge sheet was filed in the court of Special Municipal Magistrate Jammu by Inspector B.B Sharma, investigating officer of the case. The first charge sheet of the case was filed on 28-8-2012 in the court of Chief Justice Magistrate (CJM) Jammu.
Nine persons including Ram Pal S/o Late Ram Rakha, Lovish Bharat S/o Ram Pal, Vandana Sagotra & Chander Kanta Sagotra both daughters of Sai Dass, Shahzeb S/o Mohd Khatib R/o Bareli Uttar Pardesh, Shanawaz Hussain S/o Bashir Ahmed R/o Bathindi, Mohd Aziz r/o Narwal Jammu and Abdul Mubeen S/o Hifizullah R/o Lucknow were arrayed as accused. The ninth accused Barun Kumar was not present against whom non bailable warrant was issued by the court.
Muncipal Magistrate Jammu, B S Bhau after hearing senior Public Prosecutor S.K Bhat, appearing for the CBI and the counsels of accused, granted bail to all to the tune of Rs 25,000 each. Next date of hearing in the case was fixed on February 4.
On August 21, 2010 invigilators of Jammu University had detected few impersonators appearing in the examination of MBBS/BDS of ASCOMS Sidhra for influential candidates. The case was registered in police station Gandhi Nagar Jammu vide FIR no 177/2010 U/s 419/420 RPC and U/s 2/5 PUE Act of 1987. The State Government vide Notification under SRO No 314 dated 25-8-2010 had handed over the case to the CBI.
Sources said that CBI has been vigorously following the case and utilized all resources at its disposal to conduct detailed investigation. The officials had also visited several parts of country for conducting indepth investigation of the case.
