JAMMU, Jan 27: The Samajik Vikas Sansthan (SVS) J&K in its series of meeting held under the chairmanship of Dr M K Razdan its patron discussed the condition of various astahpans and religious places in the Valley and reviewed the functioning of the various projects for the renovation of the shrines and temples in Kashmir and Jammu.
The meeting discussed the renovation of Vichar Nag Temple and the Sansthan offered to take up the work of its renovation in hand which was accepted by the Vicharnag Committee.
The meeting was informed that during the year the Sansthan undertook renovation and reconstruction of Gopi Teerath temple at Zabarwan Hills, Nishat Srinagar which was earlier managed by Ishwar Ashram Trust, renovation and reconstruction of Dharamshalla at Reshipeer Asthapan Ali Kadal, Sriangar, repairs and renovation of Mata temple Pukhribal Srinagar and acquisition of 1.5 kanals of land for the said temple and maintenance of Muthi Ghat.
The meetings among others were attended by Kuldeep Raina, S L Bhan, M K Pandita, Arvind Kaul , A K Bhat and Vinay Koul. Besides the meetings with the respective managing committees of Vichar Nag Temple, Reshipeer Ahsram Trust and Ishwar Ashram Ishber Nishat were held.
While the Vichar Nag Committee expressed its gratitude to the Trust for undertaking the renovation and reconstruction of Vicharnag shrine Rishipeer Trust also complimented the management of the Trust for reconstruction of Dharmshalla at Ali Kadal.
The Trust in its meeting later decided to construct an old age home at Jammu for the benefit of the community members. Till the purchase of land for old age home it was decided to make it operational from a rented building for the time being.
