JAMMU, Jan 27: Many social organizations celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasms and organized flag hoisting ceremonies at different places on Saturday.
Kashmir Dramatic Club, a social welfare society organized a function in this connection at Tumal village. President of the body P N Hakim hoisted National Flag in presence of other members. It was announced by the president that KDC is launching a heritage magazine in four languages – Kashmiri, Dogri, Urdu and Hindi shortly. A cultural programme was also presented by the children to mark the occasion.
J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra Secondary School for Hearing & Speech Handicapped Boys and Girls organized Republic Day function in the school premises here on Saturday. Inderjeet Khajuria, president, hoisted the National Flag and led the assembly at the National Anthem. Members of the management committee of the Kendra were also present.
J&K People’s Democratic Ex-servicemen Wing organized a function to celebrate the occasion at Valmiki Colony, GandhiNagar here today. Suresh Sharma, president of the wing hoisted National Flag. Capt Anil Gour State president was the chief guest. Several other functionaries of the body participated in the function.
Dogra Brahman Paratinidhi Sabha celebrated 64th R-Day at Sabha Bhawan, Parade Ground here today. Ved Parkash Sharma, hoisted the National Flag. The other members of the body were also present. They sung National Anthem and distributed sweets on the occasion.
Dogra Saddar Sabha J&K organized a function in connection with the R-Day here today. President of the Sabha, Gulchain Singh Charak was the chief guest. He hoisted the National Flag and greeted the people on the occasion. Sweets were also distributed by the Sabha members to mark the occasion.
SOS Children’s Village celebrated 64th R-Day function in the premises of the Home at Channi Rama here today. National Flag was hoisted by Balbir Kumar Gupta, chairman of the Federation of Industries, Jammu. Children of the SOS Home, sang National Anthem and other patriotic songs to mark the occasion. The children also presented a cultural programme.
Backward Classes Union celebrated Republic Day at its office at Jalalabad in Sunjuwan here today. Prof Kalidass, general secretary of the body unfurled the National Flag in presence of other members of the organization. He congratulated the people on the occasion.
Sainik Co-operative House Building Society celebrated the occasion by hoisting National Flag at the Society office here today. Maj Gen ( Retd) G S Jamwal hoisted National Flag in presence of other members. Children of Sainik Public School sung National Anthem and presented cultural programme.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society ( Ward 53) celebrated Republic Day function in Sector 1 today. President of the Society Vinod Mahajan unfurled the National Flag. Sweets were also distributed among the gathering on the occasion by the Society members.
PHE Workers Welfare Association ( Jammu Province) organized a function in connection with the R-Day here. Chief Engineer PHE Jammu was the chief guest. He unfurled the National Flag and greeted the people on this occasion. Trade unionists, Bakshi Singh, Subash Verma, Rattan Doshi and Omkar Sharma were also present on the occasion.
Members of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Jammu West along with residents of Sarwal celebrated 64th Republic Day. ID Soni, Commissioner, Scouts and Guides hoisted the National Flag.
All India Confederation of SC/ST/ OBC organizations, under the chairmanship of its president RK Kalsotra celebrated 64th Republic Day with zeal and enthusiasm.
National Conference leader and Ex-block president Romesh Lal Choudhary unfurled the National Flag in presence of party leaders and workers at Suchetgarh to mark the celebrations of the 64th Republic Day.

On the eve of 64th Republic Day, a function was organized at Raipur-Domana constituency, in which LYC Jammu-Poonch general secretary Charanjeet Singh hoisted the National Flag and highlighted the importance of the day.
All J&K Christian United Federation celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour at Prem Nagar. The National Flag was hoisted by Nicodemas, president in presence of John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General, Fayaz Ahmed Bhat, Chairman, Jammu Kashmir Peace Foundation and other members of the Federation.
Indian National People Welfare Society celebrated Republic Day at Ram Lila ground, Bahu Fort. President Karam Kand Patyal hoisted the National Flag in presence of local populace. Students from various educational institutions presented cultural items.
Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha celebrated 64th Republic Day at Vishwakarma Temple Complex, Gurha Morh, Shakti Nagar. Shashi Verma besides other members of the Sabha threw light on the importance of the day. They also hoisted National Flag.
