Authorities paid no heed to suggestions, CWA to approach Guv

JAMMU, Nov 19: Consumer Welfare Association (CWA) has expressed concern that authorities concerned have not paid any heed towards its suggestions for the welfare of consumers and has resolved to approach the Governor in this regard.
In a meeting of CWA here today under the chairmanship of its President, S.K Gupta it was highlighted that this year CWA met Director CAPD, DC Jammu and also Divisional Commissioner Jammu with issues of consumers.
These issues included fixation of rates and standard of milk and milk products, sale of packed items at malls, restaurants & cinema halls at exorbitant rates specially printed by the packers, fixation of rates of essentially commodities in the district by the concerned Deputy Commissioners, fixation of fares of buses, taxi and auto-rickshaws, review and fixation of fee, including various other charges by private schools, review of problems being faced by the consumers at Railway Station Jammu, pricing the medicines, dispensing of generic medicines, working of pathological labs and rationalization charges for various tests, charging of parking fee at cinemas, malls and commercial complexes etc.
