RAJOURI, Nov 9: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohd Aijaz Asad has stopped the salaries of four Block Medical Officers (BMOs) after 24 Health Centres were found locked during surprise checking by special teams deputed in the district today.
Official sources said that in order to ensure regularity, punctuality, work culture and to check the absenteeism, the special teams, constituted on the directions of District Development Commissioner Rajouri, were constituted to conduct inspections in various Health institutions.
The teams led by Additional Deputy Commissioners, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars conducted the checking simultaneously in various Health institutions in the district in the morning.
During this surprise check, a total of 120 institutions were inspected which includes, 26 Health institutions in Nowshera, 25 in Sunderbani, 19 institutions in Kalakote, 20 in Darhal, 26 in Manjakote and four health institutions in Kandi.
During checking, it was found that six Health institutions in Nowshera found locked, five in Sunderbani, five in Kalakote, 5 in Manjakote, two health institutions in Darhal and one health institution in Kandi was also found locked, for which CMO Dr Suresh Gupta has been asked to report in the matter, to initiate strict disciplinary action. Meanwhile, the salary of BMO Sunderbani, BMO Nowshera, BMO Kalakote, BMO Manjakote has been withheld till further orders.
Meanwhile, during checking it was found that 30 employees were found absent in an unauthorised manner, 94 were on leave, till the last report came in. An explanation is being sought from CMO and BMOs whether they have followed the leave rules in sanctioning leave of such a large number of officials/employees. He said that action shall also be initiated against such leave sanctioning authorities who have sanctioned leaves in an irrational and casual manner.
