JAMMU, Jan 19: Minister for Planning and Development, Labour and Employment Ajay Sadhotra today called for formulation of short and long term programmes for holistic development of J&K.
Reviewing the functioning of Planning and Development Department at a high level meeting here this afternoon, the Minister said that core plan of the developmental strategy should lead to percolation of benefits to the common masses within the stipulated time frame.
“Any programme or scheme loses efficacy if its execution gets delayed or impaired”, the Minister said, emphasizing the need for expeditious execution.
The Minister urged the officers to devise a mechanism for efficient and effective monitoring in order to have real time status updates of each work, programme or scheme undertaken, especially in remote and backward areas.
The Minister reiterated eagerness of Coalition Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to ensure all-round and rapid development of all the 3-regions and to fulfill urges and aspirations of the people.
Underlining the need for transparency and accountability in every wing of the administration, Sadhotra said that the Government will undertake performance auditing at all levels.
Principal Secretary Planning and Development, B. R. Sharma assured the Minister that the field agencies will be further geared up to carry forward the developmental initiatives with full zeal across the State.
