JAMMU, Oct 21: The residents of Sector 1-A Channi Himmat have sought renovation of the park, which has been got vacated recently from illegal encroachment.
Karanjeet Singh, Sub Div Agri Officer (Retd) informed that on October 16 this year, a team from Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board (JKHB) led by DGM Housing Unit-I Firdous Ahmed Qazi, Collector Avleen Kour, Senior Manager Pooja Wazir and Naib Tehsildar Ravi Bhat got the park vacated from illegal encroachment by closing its illegal entrance from a hotel side and opening its gates towards the main roads for public.
“On October 17, DGM and Senior Manager again visited the park to observe the completion of remaining works”, he added.
Singh requested MD JKHB to make some sitting, lights and water arrangements in the park as this park is being used by children viz senior citizens for morning and evening walks.
He also sought installation of two swings for children and appointment of a gardener for maintenance of the park.
