JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Oct 21: In order to pay tributes to the martyrs and commemorate their sacrifices, National Police Day popularly known as ‘Police Commemoration Day’ was observed today across the Jammu and Kashmir.
JAMMU: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Dr S D Singh Jamwal along with other senior police officers paid floral tribute to the martyrs at Police Martyrs Memorial, Rail Head, Jammu. MLA Nagrota Davinder Singh Rana was also present on the occasion. Police Commemoration Day parade was held at Gulshan Ground, Jammu. IGP Jammu, IGP Armed Jammu Danish Rana, DIG JKS Range B.S Tuti, and GOs of all Jammu based units were present, apart from a large number of senior and retired police officers and prominent citizens of Jammu were also present.
Moreover, another impressive function was organized in the evening at Police Martyrs Memorial Railway Station, Jammu where a large number of police and civil families assembled to light candles and paid rich tributes to the Martyrs of the nation.
A book named ‘Namman” was unveiled by Dr Rubinder Kaur Chairperson PWWA in presence of Ashok Bhan Retd. DGP Prison, Dr S.D. Singh IGP Jammu Zone, Danish Rana, IGP Armed Jammu Zone /IR, other senior and retired police officers and family members of Police Martyrs at Police Martyrs Memorial Railway Station this evening to pay tribute to the 70 “Police Martyrs” of Jammu district.
Inspector General (IG) BSF Jammu Ram Awatar, officers and all ranks paid tribute to the martyrs at Martyrs Memorial at BSF Camp Paloura. IG BSF laid wreath and paid homage to the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
SAMBA: A function was organized in DPL here in which floral tributes were paid by the SSP Samba and other senior officers of the district to the martyrs.
KATHUA: Police Commemoration Day was observed in District Police Lines here. Shridhar Patil, SP Kathua along with other police and security officers, retired police officers and families of police martyrs paid tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty to uphold sovereignty and security of the State. On the occasion, Kuldeep Raj MLA Hiranagar and Arun Gupta Principal PTS Kathua were also present on the occasion. SPS Police Training School Kathua organized Police Commemoration Day parade. Arun Gupta SSP Principal SPS PTS Kathua, GOs, NGOs and lower subordinate staff of training school paid floral tribute to the police martyrs at the Martyrs Memorial.
KATRA: A function was held at GRP Lines Katra on the occasion of “Police Commemoration day”. SSP Railways Katra Ranjit Singh Sambyal paid rich tributes to martyrs at Martyrs Memorial GRP Lines Katra. The function was attended by the officers of CRPF, RPF, Railway Department, all officers and officials of GRP Katra and prominent citizens.
REASI: A function was organized in DPL here. Prasanna Ramaswamy G, DC Reasi, Nisha Nathyal, SSP Reasi and other senior officers of the district paid rich tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
UDHAMPUR: Police Commemoration Day parade was held at DPL here. Raees Mohammad Bhat, SSP Udhampur presided over the function and the Commemoration Day parade. All the families of police martyrs of District Udhampur besides retired police personnel, prominent citizens and distinguished guests paid floral tributes to martyrs at newly constructed Shaheedi Smarak. As a token of remembrance, gift packs were given to all the family members of police martyrs by District Police, Udhampur. Tabassum Parveen Additional SP Udhampur, SDPO Chenani Charanjeet Singh, DySP DAR Himmat Singh were among others present on the occasion.
RAJOURI: An elaborated function was organized at DPL here. Ajaz Asad, DC Rajouri, DIG RP Range Deepak Kumar Salathia and SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas paid a rich tribute to the martyrs who laid down their live in the line of duty.
RAMBAN: A commemoration day parade was held at DPL here to pay rich homage to the martyrs by DIG DKR Rafiq-ul-Hassan, DC Ramban Showket Ajaz, SSP Ramban Anita Sharma and many others. Contingents of District Police, Armed Police, CRPF and CISF participated in the parade. On the occasion Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar, DySP Headquarters Ramban, CPO, SO DIG, DySP Operations Banihal and other officer were also present.
DODA: Police Commemoration Day was observed at DPL here. A rich tribute was offered for the eternal peace of the martyrs by DC Doda, SSP Doda and other dignitaries.
KISHTWAR: An elaborated function was organized in the DPL here. SSP Kishtwar Rajinder Kumar Gupta took the salute of the Commemoration Day Parade. Brigade Commander 9 Sector, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Commandants and 2I Cs of Army and CAPF, respectable citizens, NoKs of the martyrs, along with the territorial officers of police and officers of civil administration attended the function.
ANANTNAG: The function was held at DPL here where contingents of different forces including district Police Anantnag, Armed Police, CRPF and IRP participated in the parade. DC Anantnag Mohd Younis, who was the chief guest on the occasion accompanied by SSP Anantnag Altaf Ahmad Khan took the salute. A blood donation camp was also organized in which SSP Anantnag Altaf Ahmad Khan, DySP Headquarters Anantnag Burhan Kanth, CO 40 Battalion CRPF and other senior officers and officials of police donated blood. Families of the martyrs were also present on the occasion and gifts were distributed to the kins of the martyrs.
SHOPIAN: Police Commemoration parade was held in DPL here in which contingents of District Police, IRP, JKAP and CRPF participated. The parade was attended by officers of Police and CRPF besides NoKs of Police martyrs of the district. A glorious tribute was paid to the martyrs who laid their lives in the line of duty. On the occasion, special gifts were distributed among the NoKs of the Police martyrs of the district as a mark of oneness and empathy.
PULWAMA: Police Commemoration Day parade was organized in DPL here. A large number of paramilitary forces and police officers attended the parade. The civilian and police martyrs families also attended the programme. SP Pulwama interacted with the NoKs of police martyrs and distributed cheques among them and assured all possible support and cooperation at his level.
GANDERBAL: The sacrifices of policemen in the lines of duty were marked with solemnity at the Police Commemoration Day held at DPL here. SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmed Poswal paid floral tribute to all martyrs of Police Department, followed by prayer. On the occasion, DC Ganderbal Dr Piyush Singla along with ADC Ganderbal Nasir Ahmad, CO 118 Battalion CRPF AK Dhyani, ASP Ganderbal and other police officers and Officials as well as families of police martyrs were present on the Police Commemoration Day. SSP Ganderbal distributed gifts among 41 kins of martyrs as gesture of respect.
BANDIPORA: Police Commemoration parade was held in DPL here in which contingents of District Police, IRP, JKAP and CRPF participated. The parade was also attended by DDC Bandipora and officers of Police and CRPF besides NoKs of martyrs of the district. A glorious tribute was paid to the martyrs who laid their lives in the line of duty. On the occasion, sewing machines were distributed among the NoKs of the police martyrs of the district as a mark of oneness and empathy.
SOPORE: Police Commemoration day was observed in DPL here to pay tributes to the brave policemen and other security forces personnel who sacrificed their lives while discharging their duties. On the occasion, SSP Sopore Javaid Iqbal, SDPO Sopore Mashkoor Ahmad Zargar and other officers of JKP, IRP, CRPF and Army Commandants besides NoKs of police martyrs of the district and prominent citizens of Sopore were present.
HANDWARA: Police Commemoration Day was observed at DPL here, wherein Ashish Mishra SP Handwara read over the names of all police personnel who scarified their lives in the line of duty across the country. Rich tribute was paid to police martyrs. An impressive commemoration parade was held as a mark of respect to the martyred security officials.
KUPWARA: Police Commemoration parade was held in DPL here in which contingents of District Police, IRP, JKAP and CRPF participated. The parade was attended by SSP Kupwara and other senior officers of Police and CRPF besides NoKs of police martyrs of the district. A glorious tribute was paid to the martyrs who laid their lives in the line of duty. On the occasion, gifts were distributed by SSP Kupwara among the NoKs of the police martyrs of the district.
BUDGAM: In order to pay the rich tribute to the martyrs Police Commemoration Day parade was observed here. Rich tribute was offered for the eternal peace of the martyrs by SSP Budgam and other officers of the district.
KARGIL: Police Commemoration Day was observed to pay tribute to valor and intrepidity of the martyrs of police and other CAPFs who made supreme sacrifices in the line of duty. DC Kargil, SSP Kargil and other dignitaries paid floral tributes to the martyrs.
LEH: Police Commemoration Day was observed at Police Line Choglamsar. While paying homage to the police martyrs, SSP Leh Sargun Shukla readout the names of martyred policemen. DC Leh Avny Lavasa along with SSP Sargun Shukla, Commandant 25th Battalion IRP, Tsering Gyalpo, SP, CID, Sonam Dechen, DySP, DAR Sonam Dorjey and other police officers and jawans paid tributes to police martyrs at Martyrs Memorial. Gifts were given to kith and kins of martyred policemen ASI Sonam Dorjey, SgCt Gulam Abass, SI Stanzin Norboo and CT Shabir Hussain. The students of Nari Niketan and Bal Ashram were also invited as guests and gifts were presented to them.
