JAMMU, Oct 16: All J&K Pensioners Association has expressed concern over the encroachment of footpaths by shopkeepers at some busy areas of the city.
In a meeting chaired by Association General Secretary, Madan Lal Abrol here today different speakers said that shopkeepers at Kanak Mandi, Link Road, Rajinder Bazar and some other parts of the city place their articles on footpaths which affects the public movement.
The Association members lauded DIG Traffic, Basant Rath for removing the encroachment so that traffic can move smoothly on the roads.
They also appealed to the Governor, Satya Pal Malik, his Advisors and Municipal authorities to take strict measures so that this encroachment of footpaths can be stopped.
Yash Pal Sasan, Pavitar Singh, Mohd Shafi and others were also present in the meeting.
