4 vehicles with 20 bovines seized on Mughal Road

POONCH, Oct 11: The police foiled a major bovine animals smuggling bid to Kashmir via Mughal Road and rescued 20 cattle loaded in four vehicles besides arresting four persons last night.
Official sources said that based on a reliable information regarding smuggling of bovine animals to Kashmir, the Police party led by SHO Surankote, Insp Som Raj and Incharge Police Post Behramgalla, SI Jonesh Verma under the supervision of SDPO Surankote Reyaz Ahmed intercepted four Tata Mobile vehicles bearing Regd No. JK12A-2971,JK05F- 7730, JK12A-2087 and JK12A-7320, near Poshana which were on way from Surankote to Kashmir at around 11.30 pm last night.
During the search of the vehicles, 20 bovine animals were found loaded which were being illegally transported without any valid permission. The police arrested four persons / drivers in this connection. They were identified as Imran Ahmed, son of Mohd Latief Khan, resident of Banola in Tehsil Mendhar ; Naseer Ahmed , son of Wali Mohd, hailing from Narool in Tehsil Mendhar ; Mohd Ajaz , son of Mohd Bashir, and Mohd Azad, son of Faiz Mohd, both residents of Khanetar in Poonch. Separate FIRs were registered by police in this connection.
