First kind of Gou Gopal Yagya at Sohanjana to begin today

JAMMU, Dec 24: The first kind of 108 Gou Gopal-108 Kundiya Mahayagya is being solemnized at the Samadhi Sathal of Shri Dewarikanath Shastri Ji Maharaj in Sohanjana from tomorrow to January 5, 2013.
This was stated by Swami Gangadhar Ji Maharaj, young saint and disciple of Shastri Ji while talking to reporters here, today.
He said with a motive to restore peace in the world and to propagate the values of holy Vedas and spread awareness about the worth of Gou (Cows) according to religious scriptures, a grand 108 Gou Gopal 108 Kundiya Mahayagya will be performed in a highly sanctified natural surroundings in Sohanjana from tomorrow in which 108 cows would be donated among the learned Pandits on the last day of yagya.
The renowned saints and religious scholars from Kashi, Brindhaban, Mathura and other parts of the country will participate in this mega religious event, he said, adding spiritual discourses and recitation of Vedic hymns during this 11 day long religious programme will energize the atmosphere which in turn will help in protection of environment as well as create positive change in the minds of the people around.
Swami Gangadhar said the worship and performing pooja of Lord Krishna along with holy cows daily during the Mahajagya will be the main attraction of this religious ceremony. The yagya will commence with Kalash Yatra ritual tomorrow which is the birth anniversary of Swami Dwarikanath Ji Maharaj. The Kalash Yatra will also coincide with annual Rath yatra, he added.
He said religious discourses will be given by learned scholars, adding that Gou Dhan has a lot of importance in Hindu religion as Lord Krishna used to donate 11,484 cows every day.
