JAMMU, Dec 24: The Mathematics Department of Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu organized debate competition on the topic ‘Great Indian Mathematicians’, here today.
Students of BE Ist and 3rd semesters participated in the event and made their presentations on the works and life history of Great Indian Mathematicians like Srinivasa Ramanujan, Arya Bhatta, Braham Gupta, Veera Sena, Bhaskara Charya and Lilavati.
The programme was presided over by Professor Bhopinder Singh, Principal, GCET who while speaking on the occasssion advised students to work with sincerity and dedication. Mehak Gupta of 3rd semester Electronics, Vinamra Yougal and Shivam Koul both of Ist semester were respectively awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize. The programme was convened by Er Roaf Ahmed Khan and attended by faculty members including Dr Subash Chander, Er Sanjeev Gupta, Vidhi Gupta, Om Jyoti and Arti Bhat.
