Amarnath yatri dies mysteriously

JAMMU, July 16: In mysterious circumstances, the dead body of an Amarnath yatri was recovered today from two persons, who were travelling with it on a bike in suspicious condition.
“A police party led by SHO Chanderkote deployed at Nashri observed three persons moving on a motorbike bearing registration number PB11AY-0183 towards Jammu in suspicious condition as person sitting in the middle seemed motionless and was held up straight by the second pillion rider”,  a police official said.
He said on inquiry, the persons disclosed that they were on Shri Amarnath ji Yatra and today left Pahalgam base camp at about 2.30 PM but when they reached near Anantnag town their companion namely Balkar Singh son of Paramjeet Singh, resident of Peekhi, district Taran Taran, Punjab, complained of headache/restlessness and died.
“The dead body was taken into police custody by SHO Chanderkot and after postmortem at District Hospital Ramban, it was handed over deceased’s father namely Parmjeet Singh son of Sajan Singh”, the police official, said, adding, inquest proceeding under Section 174 CrPC was initiated at police station Chanderkote.
