REASI, July 16: Police today foiled an attempted of bovine smuggling and rescued 5 animals besides arresting the accused smuggler.
A Mahindera carrier driven by Mohd Isaq son of Hakim Din, having registration number JK20-7378, was intercepted at Zirat Naka Mahore. Five bovine animals, being smuggled in the vehicle, were rescued while the accused driver was arrested on the spot.
Meanwhile, reports from Katra said that during patrolling at Counter number 2, Katra Police recovered 10 polly pouches 250/250 ML Desi liquor from the possession of one Pawan Kumar of Jugati Nnagrota Jammu. Police seized the liquor and arrested the accused, against whom a case FIR number 146/2018 U/S 188 RPC has been registered at PS Katra.
