JAMMU, July 16: The Director Fire & Emergency Services J&K, Dilbagh Singh (DGP), today inaugurated building of Fire & Emergency Services Range Workshop/ Stores at Gangyal Jammu, constructed by the J&K Police Housing Corporation Division Jammu.
After inauguration of the building, he went around different sections of workshop/ store and took first hand appraisal of the facilities/ machinery available at the Range Workshop for maintenance of big fleet of Water Tenders and other vehicles of the department of Jammu Range.
He stressed the need to equip the workshop with latest machinery and also lauded the role of workshop staff for their efforts in maintenance of vehicles of the department.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the Range Stores / Workshop were not having their own building and were operating from different departmental buildings. The ground floor of the building shall be utilized as workshop while as the first floor shall be utilized for storage of spare parts of vehicles, uniform/ general items. The sophisticated disaster mitigation equipments available with the department were also displayed.
The Director F&ES J&K stressed the need to use these equipments as and when required besides also organising training programmes for the volunteers for their use in emergencies.
Earlier, the Director was welcomed by R C Raina, Dy Director Fire & Emergency Services, Command Jammu and other officers of the department.
Dr Anita Salgotra, Medical Officer, G L Pandita, Dy Director F&ES Command Ramban and officer of J&K Police Housing Corporation were also present on the occasion. Besides, R K Hak, Ex- Director, Fire & Emergency Services, J&K and other retired Police / Fire & Emergency Services personnel also attended the said function.
