JAMMU, Mar 16: A man died of electrocution in Akhnoor area of city outskirts, today.
According to a police official, a man identified as Kuldeep Singh son of Wakil Singh, resident of Berha Morh (Gharota), was walking on foot towards Akhnoor town when he came in contact with a broken supporting wire of a pole of 11000 Kv electric line.
Due to severe electric shock, the man died on the spot. His body was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor and after conducting autopsy there, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
In this connection, a case of negligence by the Power Development Department has been registered at police station Akhnoor and further investigations started.
