SRINAGAR, Feb 3: Police arrested seven gamblers and recovered stake money of Rs 15,160.
A police spokesman said SHO Police Station Lal Bazar, Riyaz Ahmad Khan under the supervision of SDPO Hazratbal, Rameez Rashid Bhat raided a gambling site near Bus Stand Lal Bazar and arrested seven gamblers.
The gamblers were identified as Mehraj-ud-din, a resident of Nowshara, Shabir Ahmad, a resident of Soura, Bilal Ahmad Najar, a resident of Bandipora, Aijaz Ahmad rather, a resident of Nowshara, Taufiq Ahmad Sofi, a resident of Bandipora, Mohammad Rafiq, aresident of Soura and Shahid Ahmad Chota, a resident of Lal Bazar.
“The stake money of Rs 15,160 and playing cards were seized from their possession and a case with FIR No.04/2018 under section 13 Gambling Act was registered and investigation was taken up,” he said.
