DGP Prisons inaugurates CCTV surveillance system at Hiranagar Jail

KATHUA, Jan 31: Director General of Police, Prisons, J&K, S K Mishra inaugurated hi-tech CCTV surveillance system at Sub-Jail Hiranagar, here today.
The CCTV surveillance system shall help monitoring CCTV cameras installed in the jail and its main objective is to ensure safe custody of the prisoners. It shall also help in strengthening the security grid of the jail.
Speaking on the occasion, the DGP highlighted the importance of this surveillance system at Sub Jail Hiranagar in view of its sensitivity on account of being very close to the border.
Technical Officer to DGP Prison, Shabir Ahmed, Assistant Engineer Nanaji Bhat, Superintendent Sub Jail Hiranagar, Feroz Ahmad Lone, Assistant Commandant CRPF, Sunil Kumar and other officers of CRPF and Jail staff were present on the occasion.
The DGP also visited the prison inmates’ barracks and interacted with the inmates. He expressed his satisfaction with regard to the Jail management.
